Usefull for XSR 155 Users On March 1st week 2026, got custom seat made for my XSR 155 which is known to have a minimal, stiff seat. They gave me 3 options with premium seat cover as standard: 1- add a foam layer on top of original seat Cost: 2500 2- Build a custom seat on Yamaha original base plate: a- hard flat seat,.which is good for long tours and shuffling to ease fatigue. Cost: 3500 Cons: Raises the seat height higher from existing 810mm. b- soft sloping rider seat with pillion seat well padded and stepped up. Good for city commute. Cost: 3500 Cons: pillion seat gets really high si you would need aftermarkets flat extended footrests installed as company footrests may break if your pillion is heavy. They showed both custom seat models and gave test ride to decide. Process: You select your seat after test rides and pick a premium seat cover from their selection. After base seat is ready (usually takes 30 mins) they ask you to test ride and confirm. After that they shape it and get seat cover stiched based on your design (costs extra) Finally they would staple cover to the seat with a final test ride for confirmation. They add back the seat's belt too in new seat's colour. Takes total upto ~3 hours time. You can order it online too with new plate but then it costs double. Staff: Amit else Lalla would be around and proactively offer constructive suggestions to help you decide. From there on their staff pick up. As I wanted to tour, got a hard flat custom on seat made. Worked out very well on a 900 kms ride. It additionally slightly negated the XSR's stiff suspension.
