Every Cushion is made of Chemical and has its life and density. These chemical based Foams or Cushion looses its density over the period of time. Let the cushion be of Furniture, Bed, Car Seats or Bike. The more the cushion is exposed to the air, dust and water, the lesser its life. Hence, motorcycle seat has less life when compared to Car Seats. However, we get different types of chemicals which are being used to give different density to the cushion including Open Cells Foam and Closed Cell Foams. In India, cushions made for furniture are using the same chemical as of the Motorcycle Seat with 10 years of guarantee from the manufacturers. But they don’t give any guarantee for the Motorcycle Seats. Reason is very simple. They know it very well that their foam needs to bare rough atmosphere out there. Direct Sunlight, Air Pollution. Dust And water are most common reasons for a cushion to loose its density faster. We recommend all to maintain your seats well by removing dust whenever possible and use rain cover either to the seat or the bike cover to cover it completely when not in use.
