It all began with a simple belief:

- This old photograph from 1998 captures the heart of our early story — a modest shopfront, skilled hands at work, and a loyal community of riders who kept coming back.
In 1964, our grandfather Khairati Lal saw an opportunity others overlooked. A humble yet determined entrepreneur, he noticed the growing demand for bike parts and accessories. Armed with sharp instincts, a love for craftsmanship, and an unwavering belief in quality, he opened a small store — MK Traders.
Word spread quickly. People came not just for the seat covers, but for the unmatched quality and trust that Khairati Lal’s shop built over the years.
Our mission was simple: Delivering quality that quietly and consistently exceeded expectations.

A New Generation, A Bigger Dream
As time passed, the business began to outgrow its tiny home. The next chapter belonged to Rakesh Kumar and Vijay Kumar, Khairati Lal’s sons.
Having spent their childhood learning not just the craft but the values behind every stitch, they carried forward the family legacy with care and purpose.
The Birth of Sahara Seats
In 2005, Vijay Kumar began crafting seats and branding them under the name Sahara, laying the foundation for what would become a trusted name in the industry. When the third generation — Amit Arora and Rajat Arora — joined the family business, it was time for a bold new chapter. The business relocated to a larger, modern outlet, but the heart of the company remained the same: quality, care, and the promise that every product leaving the store would be something we’d proudly put on our own bikes.
As the world shifted online, so did our vision.
While Rajat Arora focused on customer experience and managing craftsmen, Amit Arora built our digital presence. In 2016, Sahara Seats was officially born — blending traditional skills with modern design sensibilities. For the first time, our products reached riders beyond our hometown through online platforms. By 2018, we were proudly shipping seats and accessories to international markets. And through it all, the original MK Traders shop remained open — a living, breathing reminder of where it all began.
Growing Our Family
- As demand grew, so did our family - not just by blood, but by spirit.
- In 2020, Mamta Rahi and 2022 Sumit Arora joined the business to help drive sustainability, innovation, and long-term vision.
- Skilled craftsmen, dedicated staff, and passionate riders also became a part of our journey, each bringing their own expertise and heart to the business.
- We also embraced the latest technology and machinery to enhance both quality and efficiency, without compromising on craftsmanship.
- Abhishek Tiwari gave our story its digital home in 2018 by creating Sahara Seats website. Today, with Chirag Patel by his side, they ensure our website keeps growing and evolving with us.
